National-Scale Food Infrastructure — Built in Canada, for Canadians

Canadian ROOTS Farms™ is designing and deploying a network of ten gigafarms across the country—each capable of producing over 1 billion plants per year. These are not greenhouses. They are controlled environment agriculture (CEA) facilities powered by AI, renewable energy, and designed for year-round, high-efficiency food production.

Our farms are located near major grocery distribution hubs to replace imports with fresher, Canadian-grown produce—while creating jobs, training opportunities, and climate resilience at the community level.


Each Gigafarm Is:

  • 🧠 AI-Optimized: Real-time bio-sensing and environmental control systems maximize yield and nutrient density.
  • 🌡 Climate Resilient: Fully enclosed, temperature- and humidity-controlled environments ensure uninterrupted production.
  • 🧪 Science-Integrated: Designed in collaboration with leading research institutions (e.g. SFU, Guelph CESRF, McGill, BCCAI).
  • 🔌 Energy-Efficient: Powered by a combination of clean technologies (CHP, solar, battery storage) with long-tenor energy PPAs.
  • 🧑🤝🧑 Reconciliation-Driven: Co-developed with Indigenous partners through equity and governance participation.

Each facility will be strategically located near:

  • National grocery distribution centers
  • Transportation corridors and workforce regions
  • First Nations lands with partnership interest
  • Provincial government priority zones (e.g., Ontario’s SEZ, Alberta’s clean tech corridors)

Our First Site: A National Flagship

Our first gigafarm—currently in pre-development—will serve as Canada’s model for 21st-century food infrastructure. It will demonstrate:

  • 97% less land footprint
  • Near-zero pesticide application
  • 100M+ plant capacity
  • Indigenous economic partnership from day one
